This is a many faceted issue and this page will be confined to
answering one basic question:
Is there a bus? In
general, there is.
School districts in New York are required to provide busing to
all students who live within 15 miles of a non-public school. In
general terms this applies to students living in the Tuxedo, Monroe-Woodbury,
Greenwood Lake, and Ramapo School Districts. Since these districts
do not have pre-kindergarten classes they are not obliged to transport
those children. This service is free of extra charge.
Tuxedo Park School contracts for bus service on five
different routes for which a fee is charged.
- The Middletown bus serves the Route 17 corridor with pickup
and drop-off points in Middletown, Goshen and Chester.
- The Warwick bus makes two stops in Warwick.
- Cornwall-Newburgh makes stops in the city of Newburgh then follows
Routes 9W and 32 through New Windsor, Cornwall, Highland Mills,
and Central Valley.
- The two New Jersey routes make
stops in Saddle River, Upper Saddle River, Mahwah, and Franklin
Lakes.
The longest trip is no more than 50 minutes and only that for the
children at the extreme ends of the Middletown and Cornwall-Newburgh
routes.
More detailed information is available in the
admissions office.
