| Established in 1985, The Tuxedo Park School Scholars Program attracts students of outstanding academic promise and achievement. Students who will be entering grade four through grade seven are eligible. TPS awards two or more new scholarships each year. While our goal is to attract applicants who might otherwise not be able to attend our school, a student who does not require financial assistance can be designated a TPS Scholar.
The procedure for applying is as follows:
- The student applies, takes the entrance examination in February, supplies full transcripts and recommendations, and visits the school.
- TPS will send a packet of financial aid information to all the families of TPS Scholar applicants. Parents of applicants make a full financial disclosure following the same guidelines as families that apply for TPS financial aid grants.
- The Admissions Committee reviews all TPS Scholar candidates and selects the student(s) considered most likely to benefit from and contribute to Tuxedo Park School. High academic potential and achievement along with good citizenship are the most important requirements for the award. TPS will notify successful applicants in early March.
- All financial aid grants are need based and could include up to the full cost of tuition and transportation.
- Financial aid grants are for one year. TPS will renew grants as long as the student maintains a satisfactory record of academic achievement and behavior and the family continues to meet need requirements.
The examination for the 2008-09 academic year is on Saturday, February 9th at 9:00 a.m. Please call Kristen Heard to register for this testing session.
